I would like to say a big Hi to the Volcano think tank and let you in to why I think it’s a great site for peddling ideas.

When I was first told about Volcano by a friend I felt that this was my opportunity to get my Idea’s out there. A chance to have them seen by people who could turn them from a scribbled dream at the side of the bed into a reality. Did I worry about someone steeling my idea and getting rich? I think we all recoil at the thought of giving a winner away, it’s what stems the free flow of ideas more than any other consideration. There has got to be no end of ideas that would be great in the hands of some entrepreneur or other that languish in the minds of it’s conceiver who for one reason or another will never expand on them. Most ideas when put under the microscope won‘t stand up to scrutiny. The evaluations provided by the Volcano community can prove to be a valuable exercise when developing a realistic view of an ideas merit. To be able to discuss ideas with a network of people who I can bounce them off, to be able to explore how realistic an idea is, is as exciting a prospect to me than any other. The possibility of coming up with a winning formula for the Internet is probably driving the biggest use of imagination since the big bang. It takes little imagination to believe that if we could have a free flow of these and other ideas, free from the restrictions we put on them by worrying about intellectual property, then the benefits to mankind would be greater than the advancements made during any war. Ideas we would take to our grave, now have the potential to be seen by someone who might see the date that it was published on Idea Volcano as all the proof they need when deciding who’s property it is and then go on to work with the agreement of the inventor to develop it. I have to admit that I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting some of my ideas off the ground so what have I got to lose. Tim Berners-Lee literally gave us the Internet, I think I can risk an idea or two.
